Base64 Encoder & Decoder
Encode text to Base64 or decode Base64 back to plain text — everything runs locally in your browser
Some APIs require Base64 without trailing = or == —
including Vipps, MobilePay,
and many OAuth / JWT implementations. Standard Base64 pads output to a multiple of 4 characters;
this option strips that padding for APIs that expect unpadded Base64.
What is Base64?
Base64 is an encoding scheme that converts binary data into a text format using 64 printable ASCII characters. It is commonly used in RPA, automation, and web development to safely transmit data across systems that only support text — such as embedding images in HTML, encoding API credentials, or passing data through URLs.
Common use cases in RPA & automation
- Encoding API keys and credentials for HTTP Basic Authentication headers
- Decoding Base64-encoded file attachments received from APIs
- Encoding binary file content before storing in databases or sending via JSON
- Decoding responses from document processing services (OCR, PDF extraction)
⚠️ Base64 is encoding, not encryption. Anyone can decode a Base64 string — it provides no security. Do not use it to protect sensitive data.
